Aloha Ed!
My Wife Bonnie and myself were enjoying our 30th wedding anniversary by visiting the "Big Island". As
part of our celebration we chartered the "Kona Concept" for a sportfishing trip. Since this was our first
trip to Hawaii, and our first Charter for fishing, we were a little concerning with being mislead , or worse.
We live in Pennsylvania, and made the arrangements over the internet and by phone, several months
before our trip. Due to the friendly conversations and emails we had with Ed Barry and Charter
services, we decided to charter the "Kona Concept". On Saturday October 23rd we left the dock on the
"Kona Concept" with Captain Steve Tarbill, and First Mate Tom. We immediately knew that we had
made the correct selection, as the crew was very friendly and courtious. The trip was off to a great
start as we cruised south down the coast enjoying the fantastic beauty of the Kona coast. It was not
very long before the first Marlin hit and Bonnie got to fight her first really large fish. She was having a
great time , and landed a 93 lb Blue marlin. We were marveling at how good the day was going, when
we entered a Pod of Porpoises , which entertained us for a while . We thought that things could not be
any better than this (we were very wrong). Then it happened . In cruising back to where the first fish
had hit, a large marlin hit, and got loose. Captain Steve quickly turned the boat , and in a few more
minutes the marlin hit again. It was my turn, and after a long exhausting battle we managed to bring the
Blue marlin on board. 584 lbs !! I could not believe it! Exhausted and with everyone excited and happy
we decided we could not make the day any better, and headed for shore early. We could not have
asked for a better fishing trip, and can not imagine a nicer crew to share it with. Our thanks to Captain
Steve Tarbill, Tom, Ed Barry, and Charter Services for making this "dream" trip an experience we will
always remember. Mahalo!

You set up for a fishing trip July 3rd on the Renegade. I just wanted to drop you a line to tell you what
a great time we had. John was the best captain I ever fished with. We only landed one fish ,but we had
another big one on the line for over 45 min before we lost it. John really worked hard to make sure we
had a great experience.I would reccomend you guys anytime.
