Lunch, snacks, beverages, suntan lotion, hats and sunglasses.

if we want to mount our fish?
If you want to mount a fish, your Captain can arrange this for you.
Please note that you may tag and release a fish and still get a mount.
Ask your Captain.
Can
we keep the fish we catch and ship them home?
Arrangements may be made in advance on an individual basis.
What
types of fish can we catch in Hawaii?
Pacific blue marlin, black marlin, striped marlin, shortnosed spearfish,
ahi (yellowfin tuna), ono (wahoo), mahimahi, bigeye tuna, albacore tuna,
aku (skipjack tuna), most species of sharks (including makos), amberjack,
barracudas, and many more species of fish.
What
do you tip the Mate?
Tipping is up to the client. The amount of the gratuity should be based,
not on how many fish were caught, but, on the effort of the crew. 15%
of the charter fee is average.
Do
I need a fishing license?
No. All licenses are provided by the boat.
What
is an exclusive charter?
A charter for your party only, up to six people on the boat.
Where
is Honokohau Harbor located?
10 minutes from the airport, 10 minutes from Kailua-Kona town.
How
long does it take to get to the fishing grounds?
By the time you get your suntan lotion on, you will be fishing.
What
about tag and release?
Most charter boat Captains are concerned with conservation and tagging
and releasing is an option.
What should we not bring?
Bananas and any other bad luck.
Can
we share a boat?
Yes, with some advance notice, this is possible.
How
far in advance should I make a reservation?
Try to plan your charter at least a few days in advance.
